
Company collaborates with Plasson and Phibro to share practical poultry expertise with GAPESA/Pilgrim’s
CAMPINAS, Brazil – Aviagen® Latin America recently brought its “Knowledge Without Borders” seminar to Mexico City, teaming up with Plasson, a poultry equipment manufacturer, and Phibro, a global animal health company. Held May 6–7, the event welcomed nearly 50 employees from GAPESA/Pilgrim’s, a valued poultry producer and Aviagen customer in Mexico.
Over the two days, participants engaged in interactive sessions focused on practical, science-based strategies to support the welfare, performance and sustainability of Ross® 308 AP birds. Topics were tailored to local needs and included:
- Effective male and female management
- Best practices for handling hatching eggs
- Optimizing breeder nutrition
- Environmental control during the breeding and rearing phases
- Preventing common health challenges in Mexican breeder operations
- The importance of water quality in poultry production
- Advantages of automated central nests to reduce bird stress and improve hatchability
- Key management steps during the first 14 days to give chicks the best star to life
- Best practices in ventilation management, leading to optimal welfare
