Aviagen teams up with Plasson and Phibro to deliver tailored poultry expertise to valued customers in El Salvador

CAMPINAS, Brazil – Aviagen® Latin America was pleased to bring its ‘Knowledge Without Borders’ series to El Salvador. From June 30 to July 2, Aviagen collaborated with Phibro Animal Health and Plasson to engage with customers from leading poultry companies: CMI, Avícola Salvadoreña, Incubadora Salvadoreña, Kikiriki and Avícola Campestre.

Launched in 2023, ‘Knowledge Without Borders’ is a clear example of Aviagen’s commitment to ‘Breeding Success Together’ in action. By traveling directly to customer locations, Aviagen delivers practical, tailored knowledge to help strengthen the welfare, sustainability, and performance of their flocks – and support the long-term success of their businesses.

Tailored management support for CMI

From June 30 to July 2, Aviagen, Phibro and Plasson worked together to bring expert insights to 80 CMI customers. Key focus areas included biosecurity, the ABCs of male fertility, the specific needs of the modern embryo, and achieving female uniformity. Attendees also explored how to improve chick quality through nutrition, maintain gut and respiratory health, and manage heat stress through effective environmental control.

The team also addressed strategies for disease prevention, including mycotoxin control and Salmonella precautions, along with best practices for incubation to give chicks the strongest possible start.

Breeding customer success with Avícola Salvadoreña, Incubadora Salvadoreña, Kikiriki and Avícola Campestre

On July 3, Aviagen and Plasson welcomed 60 guests from Avícola Salvadoreña, Incubadora Salvadoreña, Kikiriki and Avícola Campestre for a focused knowledge-sharing session. Discussions centered on biosecurity, incubation, environmental control, and water quality, along with updated nutrition guidance for both breeders and broilers. The group also exchanged practical advice on enhancing breeder performance – both male and female.

Breeding innovation

A highlight of both visits was a session on the benefits of the automatic central nest system – a modern innovation increasingly used in breeder and layer farms. By centralizing egg laying and collection, this automated system helps improve cleanliness, hatchability, and biosecurity, while also supporting bird welfare and simplifying operations.

Strong local connections, lasting success

“’Knowledge Without Borders’ plays an important role in our mission to breed success together with our customers,” shared Rodrigo Cisoto, Aviagen’s Head of Technical Services for Central America, Mexico, and the Caribbean (CAME). “By meeting them in their own communities, we reinforce our commitment to their success. The positive feedback from our customers in El Salvador – who are key contributors to poultry production in Latin America – motivates us to continue supporting them as they feed their communities with affordable, nutritious and sustainable chicken.”
